Luau Day 19- Christmas time tropical style! Lanterns

With the upcoming holiday's coming, now is the time to start planning those parties. In the tropics there probably is not much snow unless it is high in the mountains. So how do they celebrate Christmas, do they sing Christmas carols, do they have a Santa Claus? I say yes! So the rest of this luau is all about Christmas in the tropics. Maybe you are planning a tropical Christmas vacation and would like some inspiration.
When people go caroling they usually have some kind of light to light their way. Here are a few lanterns that could do this and one or all could be just for decorations.

 This lantern I used a couple of battery operated tea lights inside. This would be beautiful on a mantle or sleigh. If you wanted to, you could also add some potpourri to it for some added holiday scents to fill the air. It has a little lid to put on it also.

Embellish it with rhinestones and die cuts.

 This is a Chinese lantern. It only uses 5 pieces of 3 x 6 dsp and then it is stapled all together. I covered the staples on the top and bottom with the hibiscus flowers.

 Here is a closeup of the tassel. Can you see it is made from the Tropical Chic DSP? I added some beads from my stash. Isn't it just lovely?

This lantern is made using the envelope punch board. This will hold one tea light. If you wanted to you could add some window sheet and then you could fill it with candy and give as a gift. The bows are made from the left over ovals I had cut out. With this project I have very little waste. If you would like to see how this is made, head on over to Maymay made it on you tube.

Right Angle Card and more cards

The first is a quick and simple card. I cut the dsp to 5 1/4 x 4 then I cut a portion of it to 2 1/2. I then flipped it over and adhered both pieces. Added some ribbon and embellishments and then stamped Thank You. The second card I had a piece of leftover stamped cardstock and I cut it down to 5 x 3. I finally cut them to 1 inch strips and adhered them to the card and using the stitched framelits, I cut out the stitched shape and stamped a sentiment from the Very Vintage stamp set. The last card is a Right Angle card using the Coffee Cafe and framelits. I used The Tropical Chic for all of them.

 I adhered a piece of scrap of Tropical Chic dsp on the inside and then layered with a piece of Whisper White cardstock and I also had a die cut of the flower and just adhered also.

Luau Day 14- 6x6 Album

6x6 Album

For this album I used a 12x12 piece of whisper white and stamped several images to create a pattern. I then cut cardstock to different sizes as well as some DSP. This album would make a cute coffee table conversation piece. 

This is the front page and I bound it all together with Gray Granite Textured Ribbon. You could add a white strip of cardstock on the front top or bottom and add a title if you would like a title.
 These two pages have pockets and the mats are for photos. The first page holds a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch photo and the other page holds two 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch photos.

 These also hold photos. The left side holds two 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch photos and the one on the right holds two 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch photos.

 The one on the left holds a 4 x 4 (3 1/2 x 3 1/2 square will show). The one on the right will hold a 3 x 3 photo in the center.

 The page on the left will hold two 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 photos, I added an embellishment in the top corner and I could have in the bottom but chose to leave it blank and the one on the right will hold a 4 x 4 photo.

 This page is for holding memorabilia (ticket stubs and etc.)

Printers Tray

Have you ever made something and you wanted to use as many of the Stampin' Up! stamp sets?

A printers tray is perfect for this. This one I made is using many of the stamps sets. A few items are from the internet such as the Tiki and then from the dollar tree I added the stones, seashells and the sand in the bottle. I used 7 stamp sets for this.
