Cock-a-doodle-do! Rise and shine, the rooster is saying good morning!

I love the sound of the rooster (on my cell phone) waking me up in the mornings. 

I live in a small town but love the country life so the rooster on my phone will have to do.

I was looking around for ideas on how to create my card with the rooster from the new 

Sale-A-Bration set Home to Roost. 

I came across Inspire.Create.Challenges from another blogger who had posted a card she created (Stamps-N-Lingers.)

As soon as I saw the sketch layout I knew what I wanted to create. I think it turned out quite well. 
This is my entry for the sketch challenge at Inspire.Create.Stamping Challenges

I used the Wood Textures dsp 4 x 5 1/4 and adhered it to the Cajun Craze cardstock. I then added a piece of Striped Burlap Ribbon (retired) and Braided Linen Trim across the bottom of the card. I trimmed the edges of the burlap on each end at different angles. I then added a piece of the chicken wire element.

For the rooster I stamped him in Memento black ink on Whisper White and colored him in with the blends. I used Dark and Light Old Olive for his tail, Dark and Light Bermuda bay for his chest, Dark Pumpkin Pie for the neck, Dark Cajun Craze for his comb (on top of his head) and wattle (the thing hanging from his neck) and Light Cajun Craze for his eye area on the head. I cut out a piece of the new Sale-A-Bration Grapefruit Grove foil sheet with the star punch from the annual catalog. I did the same for the rooster. I then added dimensionals to the back and added it to the right hand side of the card and did the same to the rooster leaving some of the foil to shine above it like the sun is rising.

I finished off the card with a sentiment in the top left corner from the Home to Roost "Enjoy the simple moments."

Love Never Melts

I am using the Spirited Snowman stamp set. I used some bright colors to go with the Joyous Noel DSP and Early Espresso cardstock. When I thought about designing this card, I researched as to what colors would go with brown tones, and found colors that I would not have imagined. One is fuchsia, I thought that the Dark Lovely Lipstick fit that category. Copper was another color and the Joyous Noel dsp had that color and then Mint. I tried Mint Macaron and I just did not like it. So I went with Granny Apple Green and loved it! I finally added the Light and Dark Highland Heather to finish it off.

Holiday Stamp of the Week- Country Lane Suite

This week will be all about the Country Lane Suite. I will be showcasing this stamp all week and each week after a new stamp set from the Holiday catalog. Sit back and relax with your favorite fall drink and dessert. I hope to inspire your creativity with these weekly cards. Now for my first card.

Fall is in the air

Autumn and Winter are my two favorite seasons, I love the changing colors of the leaves, crisp air, bonfires, making s'mores over them, hayrides and ghost stories. What is your favorite season?

This card uses the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP that is currently in the Clearance Shop. The cardstock is soft suede. I colored in the milk can with the Stampin Blends Bronze marker. The flowers are also colored with the Stampin Blends using Dark Cherry Cobbler-berries, Light Mint Macaron-leaves, Dark Cajun Craze- 2 flowers, Dark Mango Melody-flower and Ivory for cotton branches. I then cut them all out with the Scan-N-Cut CM350 also known as Scan-N-Cut 2. I popped them up with dimensional. I then added some copper ribbon with the braided linen trim and lastly added a galvanized clip. Click on any picture below to go to my store to purchase these products for your stamping needs.
