#6 Home to Roost Home or Kitchen Decor

Today I created a little home decor piece that can be hung in the kitchen or where ever you choose.
I found these cute mason jar signs at Dollar General. I re-purposed it using the painted seasons dsp. I used the largest stitched rectangle to cut out of whisper white, then the next one down for the dsp. I modged podged all of my pieces so it would be easy to wipe clean. I adhered the stitched rectangles to the jar with dimensionals. I added the paper doily (retired), I then stamped the rooster and using a mask I then stamped the wheat in crumb cake.
I colored in the rooster with bermuda bay dark and light blend markers. Pumpkin Pie for his comb and face. Mossy meadow dark and light for his tail feathers.
Here is a closer look at the rooster.
I was not to fond of the dsp and then when I started playing around with it, I liked how the rooster looked with the mushrooms and such. You just never know what you can create with something you are not sure you can find a way to use it. I really loved how this turned out:)

#5 Home to Roost Letter Board

I bought my letter board at Dollar General for $6.00 and it is 14 inch wide x 14 inch high and holds a 5 x 7 image.
I took a piece of Real Red cardstock and cut it down to 5 x 7. I then stamped the buffalo check background in Real Red on to Whisper White and cut it out. I then adhered it to another piece of Whisper White for a border.
I added a piece of the Chicken Wire Element and a couple pieces of the Whisper White Flax Ribbon. I then cut out two pieces of stitched framelit squares in Real Red and Whisper White. I stamped the rooster and sentiment in Tuxedo Black. I colored in the rooster background in with the blends Light Balmy Blue and Light Mossy Meadow and then I colored in his comb and the jiggly thing under his beak with a Poppy Parade marker, I wanted so more dimension so I cut off the edge of each side leaving it jagged. I used the banner punch for the sentiment and added a couple of rhinestones to the end of the sentiment and to the eye of the rooster. I finally adhered everything together and placed in the frame.

Home to Roost #4 Stamping on a Tin

Another idea is to stamp on a tin. Using versa-mark stamp your image on the tin then add embossing powder and finally heat set it. It gives the tin a rustic feel and can be used as a great gift giver. Use any designer series paper to make the perfect tag.

Home to Roost #2

Here I used the corrugated embossing folder for my card base. I then added a piece of gold foil sheet embossed with the tin tile embossing folder. I used the square stitched die to cut a piece of whisper white. I then stamped the rooster. I stamped it again on a scrap piece of paper and cut it out to create a mask. I lay the cut out piece over the rooster and then using crumb cake I stamped the wheat. See how the rooster looks like he is standing in front of the wheat field? I colored him in with stamping blends using Mossy Meadow light and dark, Bermuda Bay dark, Soft Sea Foam light, Cajun Craze dark and Daffodil Delight light. I adhered all the pieces to the card front with liquid glue and added a bow from the organdy ribbon with a glue dot.

I then stamped "just a note" along with some wheat in the bottom corner. I then adhered it with liquid glue.
