Happy Birthday! day 7 & 8

Happy Birthday! Day 7

Here is a few more items I have created. The first one is a soda favor, unfortunately I did not have straws so I used bamboo skewers. I made a rosette and added the Carousel horse stamped in Gumball Green, and the box I covered inside and out with the DSP, added a rosette and the Carousel horse is stamped in Peekaboo Peach. The card is a bit different. It is a latch card. StampinTexasChristi created this and I loved it. It is also a quick card to make.

Sorry I am behind on my posting. With the loss of my Aunt it has been hard.

Happy Birthday! Day 8

Here are some party ideas. First there is two on here I did not create, they were gifts from Janet Wakeland (popcorn box with enjoy and the box with the circus tents that says for you.)

Here is a popcorn box I made, is this cute!! You could put candy, nuts, cotton candy and of course popcorn in it.
These cups I got from a web restaurant site ( I do not remember where), they are 4 oz and I also bought the lids. These are so stinking cute in reality!
I also created some mini bags and mini pouch sacks and these you make with 1 sheet of 6x6. The mini origami box is also made from 1 sheet of 6x6 and I saw this from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts youtube video.

I hope you have enjoyed my Happy Birthday! showcasing the Carousel Birthday, DSP and embellishments. You do not have much time left to get this set. If you liked what I created and want this set, go to the link above and order from me. Just put in my name and state:

Happy Birthday! Day 5 & 6

It took me awhile to find how to make some hexagon boxes. The first one is a carousel box that Claire Napper did, she does a wonderful job with it. The second one is called a Circus Tent box. I love how it turned out to, reminds of the tents at the fair. My card uses a technique called Star/Sunburst. I took a 1 1/2" x 4 1/2 " and then cut from corner to corner, you should have at least 6, I made mine with a few more, I actually used all of the papers:) I then took a piece of 1 1/2 " x 5 1/2" to cover the bottom. Next I stamped the Carousel horse in Bermuda Bay, cut it out with a 2" circle die, punched holes in the top and bottom of the pole and added a cake pop stick. I then added two rhinestones to the saddle and two bows I made from the bakers twine from the embellishments. Lastly I stamped "I love when your Birthday comes around" in Basic Black and added a strand of 5 rhinestones and popped it up with dimensionals.

I had lots of fun with these!!

Day 6 Happy Birthday!

These are what I call 3-D cards. The first one is a surprise twist and fold card. It was actually easier than it looks to make. First I decorated the front with cutting three strips of DSP in different widths, layering on top of the DSP. Then I cut the ends and curled them and finally added the Ferris Wheel. On the inside I stamped the circus tents and the carousel horse on cardstock and alternated them with the DSP. The only thing I had not done was add the sentiment. Not sure who is going to get this yet.

On the next card it is a Shadow Box card. Here I stamped and cut out the Ferris Wheel, 2 Tents, the Carousel horse and a banner. If you look closely at the card you will see three layers plus the back. I used the rides for the back of the card, then added the Ferris Wheel to the next section, then the Circus Tents on the next section and then finally the Carousel horse. I stamped the filigree and then traced around the stamp to cut it out. Added Calypso Coral ribbon across the top with the two bows and some rhinestones. I stamped the Carousel horse onto watercolor paper with black memento ink. I then used Daffodil Delight for the mane & tassels, Whisper White for the horse, Calypso Coral for the saddle blanket, Melon Mambo for the saddle and Old Olive for the pole. I then colored over them with the Wink of Stella. The banner is stamped in Early Espresso.
These cards are fun to make, I really like the shadow box card most of all, on how to make this click on the link (Shadow Box) above.

It is much prettier than the picture shows.

I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have had making them~

Day 4 of Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was a happy and sad day. My husband and his twin brothers birthday was yesterday. I took him out for breakfast at Bob Evans. We could not do much because unfortunately we had a funeral to go to. My Great-Aunt Ginny had passed way at home on Thursday night, so her funeral was yesterday. Even though it was a sad day for my cousins they remembered it was my husbands birthday and wished him a happy one. My aunt was 92, she had 9 children, 19 grandchildren,43 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She and my grandmother taught me to crochet, paint, ceramics and many other things.
Through them I found my creativity, and she will be missed.

So on with yesterday's Happy Birthday!

Day 4
Here I made two calendars, the one is an easel type and can be mailed. It also has post it notes for you to jot down things. It will fit in the Stampin Up envelope.
The second is a standup one that has a post note also (the orange is the post it note) and a pen/pencil holder.

Here is how you make the easel calendar

You will need:
  • A-Your choice of color cardstock (base):  3 ½” x 11”, score at 3” and 5 ½”
  • B-same color as A cardstock:  3 ½” x 5 ¼”
  • C-Your choice of color cardstock (banner):  ½” x 3 ½“
  • D-Your choice of color cardstock for stamped image: 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”
  • E-Your choice of color cardstock: 3 ¼” x 5”
  • F-Your choice of color cardstock: 3 ¼” x 3 ¼”
  • G-Designer Paper: 3” x 3”

Directions:
  1. Crease both score lines of A cardstock and fold card in half with the second scored line on the front. Apply adhesive below the second score line only. Layer the second piece B over top, aligning the bottom edges.
  2. Adhere the larger cardstock E, to the front of easel.  Adhere the smaller cardstock F, to the inside, on the bottom half.
  3. Adhere the designer paper to G, the layer on the front.  Adhere the calendar to the bottom portion using Tear & Tape.
  4. Stamp your image on scrap cardstock D , using your choice of ink.  Die cut with the frame-lit or fussy cut if you do not have it.
  5. Stamp on the white banner strip C with your greeting.  Create banner tips using your scissors.
  6. Adhere the stamped image and the banner using Dimensionals.
  7. Adhere the Post-it-Notes to the inside as shown.
  8. Stand up the front of the calendar easel and rest the bottom behind the post it notes.

Come back tomorrow and I will post day 5 and 6!!
Do not forget to comment each day on each post for a chance for the Happy Birthday!

Day 3 Happy Birthday!

These next 2 cards are quick and simple.
The first card is a gatefold card. I used So Saffron as the card base and it is 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8." I then added two panels to the front and they measure 4 x 1 7/8." I then added sequins, glued half of the label to one side and added a bow from the embellishment kit. I added a rhinestone to the bow. I then stamped "I love when your birthday comes around" in Early Espresso.

The second card is a corner fold card. Linda Bauwin did a video on this, just click her name to go to her YouTube channel. I used Bermuda Bay for the card base with Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Very Vanilla for the card front and then stamped the Carousel horse in Peekaboo Peach added some some sequins and a rhinestone to the top of the pole. Then added a tassel to the corner, next I stamped "Enjoy life and have fun" from the Suite Sentiments stamp set (# 142971) in Early Espresso.

For the inside of the gatefold card, I cut 2 pcs ( 1 at 3 3/4" x 5" Calypso Coral  and 1 at 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" Very Vanilla) of  cardstock of each color for the insert. I stamped the Ferris Wheel in Early Espresso and added a rhinestone in the middle and popped it up with dimensionals. I then stamped 2 Carousel horses, one in Peekaboo Peach and Real Red and I fussy cut them out and popped them up also. Finally on the right panel I stamped " Because spoiling you is so much fun" in Early Espresso.
For the inside of the corner fold card I cut 3 pcs of cardstock ( ( 1 at 5 1/4" x 4" Calypso Coral, 1 at 3 1/4" x 5 of So Saffron and Very Vanilla at 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"). I stamped the Ferris Wheel in Peekaboo Peach, once on the card and then on a scrap of copy paper. I cut out the one on the copy paper to make a mask. I placed it over the Ferris Wheel and then in Real Red stamped the Tents and popped it up with dimensionals. I made the banner from Pear Pizzazz and stamped " To someone who makes others so happy" from the Avant Garden stamp set ( a Sale-A-Bration item).

I hoped you enjoyed these cards. They are simple and quick.

Thanks for stopping by!!

We are to use the above photo for inspiration. I decided to use Awesomely Artistic stamp set from Stampin Up!
The cardstock is real red, emerald envy from the new in-colors and whisper white. I stamped the flowers in versamark and used real red embossing powder. Then I stamped the leaves in emerald envy. I decided to use the emerald envy embossing powder on my dragonfly. With basic black I stamped the frame and friend, finally I added some rhinestones. Don't you just love it! For this month Michelle sent us the stamped image from "A Beautiful You", a piece of white ribbon and 5 pearls.

I then colored the hat in Crushed Curry, the dress in Flirty Flamingo with Watermelon Wonder to accent the dress. Soft Sky for the water. I then used Timeless Textures for the dotted background and the sentiment is from Frosted Medallions. I used the pearls in the four corners and a piece of ribbon down the side.

I thought this would make a nice simple card.

Merry Monday #225 {Candy Canes!}

Of all holiday's Christmas and New Year's are my favorites and of the seasons, Autumn and Winter.
I have always loved this time of the year, you see your families, you remind yourself of the ones who can not be with you or who have past on. Old memories come alive for me this time of year.
I and my brothers having snowball fights, making snow angels, sledding with our friends and when they said the creek was frozen...ice skating! Oh those were the days.

Candy canes, we would always put them on the tree to be reminded of God and his son Jesus.

                                                       Look at the Candy Cane
                                                           What do you see?
                                                          Stripes that are red
Like the blood shed for me
                                                        White is for my Savior
                                                        Who’s sinless and pure!
“J” is for Jesus My Lord, that’s for sure!
                                                              Turn it around
And a staff you will see
                                                         Jesus my shepherd
                                                          Was born for Me!

Here is my card for the challenge, I left it open so a card or money could be in it. Hope you like it!!

Cardstock Real Red, Sentiment from the Season is the Reason stamp set, flowers are made from the Botanical Blooms die set, Dazzling diamonds glitter, Silver and Red CS,  and the double sided paper is from Candy Cane Lane DSP.
