Product of the Month

This months product I am showcasing is the new Simply Shammy # 147042 $8.00 on page 206 of the new catalog.

This reusable stamp cleaning cloth makes stamp cleaning effortless. Just add water, then wipe stamps on the shammy. Durable, thick shammy easily cleans ink from narrow grooves. No lint, no chemicals—just clean! (Ink will stain shammy but won’t transfer to your fingers or other stamps.) With its portable 5" x 7" (12.7 x 17.8 cm) size it fits neatly in a stamp case.

Here is what it looks like after being used (I have hand washed this several times). The ink stays on the shammy and it does not transfer back on to the stamp. This is so much nicer than the scrubs. No special solution and so far works on all stamps!

It fits perfectly into a stamp case!

Serene Garden

Each month our team lead sends us a few elements to create a card. Last month she sent us a piece of Rich Razzleberry Ribbon, a cutout of the dove and an embossed image from the Serene Garden. I colored in the embossed image with Grapefruit Grove and Call me Clove for the leaves. It almost looks as if I did some water coloring but I did not. I love how it turned out. I then added a rose in the corner and a clip to hold the ribbon from the Share What You Love embellishment suite as well as some DSP from the same suite.

Tuesday Tip- Punches

PUNCHES OH MY!

Even if you have a die cutting machine, punches are still a crafting must-have item. When you need something quick, these are the go to item. From time to time our punches do not seem to cut like they used to or should. Here are some tips to help you get that punch back in shape:

• Punch only paper or standard cardstock. Forcing thicker materials could damage your punch.
• Glimmer, glitter or flocked paper can dull the cutting edges.
• Punch on a flat surface (facing up or down) and press down and try to apply even pressure. Hand punching can cause uneven pressure which can cause edges of your punch to be uneven.
•  Keep you punches clean and dry. Brush them off if they have not been used in a while. Dust can collect and cause your punches to be uneven.
• Sharpen those dull edges-Sharpen them by punching through aluminum foil a few times and then punch through wax paper to lubricate the punch.
• Freeze it!-If the punch is stuck or jammed, stick it in the freezer. The metal will contract as it gets cold and help release the material.

"Punched accents are a great addition to any project on your list" so take care of those punches.
