On my husband's side of the family we would go over to my mother-in-laws house (unfortunately she passed right before Thanksgiving) we would put on Swedish and barbecue meatballs, barbecue piggies in crock pots, pigs in a blanket, pickle wraps, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp, cheese balls and crackers, lunch meat with cheese slices for sandwiches and chicken wings. Even though she is no longer with us and it is hard on all of us, we are going to my daughters house to continue her tradition.
On my side of the family we would get to open up one gift, usually a blouse or some type of new clothing, and wear it for Christmas Day to all the family meals we have that day.
