Is Spring here yet?

Now that winter has finally arrived in Ohio, we are patiently waiting for spring. 

Here is a cute card to get you into a Springy mood. 

First we start off with this adorable, handsome rabbit from the Fable Friends stamp set. 

I matted the card base with soft sea foam and gave the edges a worn look. Then I added a piece of the Lovely Lipstick foil to the side and then added the dsp.

I colored the rabbit's shirt with the New Balmy Blue blends and the grass at his feet with the New Mossy Meadow blends and his ears needed some color to so I colored them in with Petal Pink.

I then used the edge of the Modern Label punch to give the ends a decorative edge. To finish the look I added a piece of the 1/8 inch Flirty Flamingo from the All My Love Ribbon Combo pack.

Finally I took the oval punch and punched out the sentiment. I then took an 1/8 hole punch and punched holes at each end and thread more of the ribbon through it and knotted them.

You Make Me Happy Card from the Meant to Be bundle

A new year has started and the Holiday hoopla is over, for now. The next holiday coming up is all about Love! February can be magical. Some people will get engaged, couples take a date night and show their love in many ways from flowers to candy, but most importantly with a card. Instead of buying a Hallmark card nothing seems to have more meaning than a handmade card. It shows the person took the time to think about what they want to say to the ones they love.

This card is made for a person who makes another person happy. It does not have to mean love. It could be for a friend on Valentines day to just show them how much they mean to you,  how much you appreciate what they did or have done for you. Just another nice way to say Thank You on a very special day!

This card technique is the Double Curtain Fold

Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Merry Merlot base: 4 x 5 1/2
DSP cut to: 1 1/2 x 4 top of card
and for the curtain one piece of Designer Series Paper - 8" x 3"
Score on one side at 1/2", 3/4", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2-1/2", 2-3/4", 3 1/2" and at 3-3/4."
Turn and score the other end.
Then make a mark at the short side at 1 1/2" on each end and on the long side at the bottom at 3 1/2" on each side, align these two marks in your cutting track and cut (see photo.)

Now begin folding. It will be mountain, valley and so forth and then do the same to the other side. 

Now adhere the curtain to Merry Merlot card front as shown. Take the other dsp and add it to the top. I then added the Lovely Lipstick ribbon around the top of the curtain and bottom of other dsp and then did the same with the Flirty Flamingo Ribbon to make it look like duel ribbon. I then punched out the label in Whisper White, Merry Merlot and the Merry Merlot glimmer paper. I cut the Merry Merlot glimmer paper in half and adhered it to the top and bottom. For the Whisper White piece I cut of the top and bottom leaving just the center piece. I then stamped the "you make me happy" in Lovely Lipstick and attached it with dimensionals and I then attached the whole label to the center with dimensionals. Finally I attached it to the card base.

All My Love suite featuring the Meant To Be bundle Home Decor

Stampin' Up! is just not for card making. You can create home decor items with them also. Here are a few examples.

Dollar General had these wooden items for valentines day.

 The wooden love sign I covered with the All My Love Suite DSP and then I added a flower and some spring sprigs to hang on the wall. Isn't this simply gorgoues?

 Next I found this 6" giant clothes pin. I decorated it with the All My Love Suite DSP, add the Flirty Flamingo ribbon bow and then cut out the flower and heart from the FREE Sale-A-Bration Grapefruit Grove/Lovely Lipstick foil sheets with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies. 

Makes a cute greeting card or photo holder.

I covered this heart the same way with another piece of the All My Love Suite DSP, added a flower and then took both the Lovely Lipstick and Flirty Flamingo from the combo pack to make a bow. I have not decided yet if I like the heart as is or if I should add a sentiment. What are your thoughts? I would love to hear you comments.
