Honey Bee's, Bears and Hives!

Making bee hives is all the rage right now for home décor. Of course I jumped on the band wagon. I went to Dollar Tree and bought the nautical rope and flower pot. There is many videos out there showing how to make the hive on YouTube. I got the bees from amazon and the flower buttons from Michaels. I decided the hive needed a bear and I knew where one was at sitting at in my craft room. I sat them on my shelf and then decided since spring is coming, they needed to be among flowers. I went back to Dollar Tree and got the planter and some faux flowers. I arranged the flowers around the hive and bear. I love how it turned out!

Here they are all together. I added some jewels to the planter and ribbon. The ribbon I got from amazon. The plaid fabric I had on hand.

I knew I had the Baby Bear stamp set and decided to make a card to fit in the theme.

Honey Bee Home Decor

Even though the Golden Honey DSP sold out, you can still buy the stamp set and dies. Today I was looking for my coaster to sit my drink on and then it hit me. Why not make some Honey Bee coasters. I went through my stash and nope, nada, no more coasters. I went to amazon and found some coasters and ordered them, when they arrived I began to gather my supplies to create my coasters and I also decided to make a keychain from some wooden ornaments I had left over. I used Stazon Black Ink and of course the Honey Bee stamp set. I chose to use the large bee and the sentiment "CELEBRATE every moment."  We should always celebrate each and every day, when we make our life happy we are blessed with goodness.

Look at how detailed the wings of the honey bee are on the cork coaster. Lovely~

How about a keychain to match?

Day 2 of Day of the Dead/Sugar Skulls Wreaths

This one was a special order for a friend and I love how it turned out. I added ribbon in blue and yellow to the black and purple mesh. This wreath I am sure the recipient will love for their birthday!

Other crafty items I create

I not only create cards but also craft other items. I am currently working on Autumn/Fall and Christmas items. Here are some pictures of some of the items I am working on. 

Halloween wreath made with Dollar Tree items. Plaque, mesh ribbon, wreath form and butterflies. The plaque says " Home of a handsome devil, a wicked witch and their little monsters.

Here is my Autumn tiered tray I decorated.

This was my mother in laws and I re-purposed it. I painted it white, added the valance and decorated it with the scarecrows and flowers for fall. Come Christmas I will redecorate it.

These are yardstick swags. These are easy to make and I sold several at a craft fair.

My daughter wanted a centerpiece for her table at Christmas. She gave me the box and I started decorating it. I first added the poinsettias, then the frosted foliage. I felt it needed more. I inherited my mother in laws craft items. I decided to go through them and found the Holly. I added it and then added the bird. I decorated the other side the same way. I should my daughter and she fell in love with it and then proceeded to tell me the Holly was from her wedding. I then remembered it was around the cake. I knew then that my mother in law had been the one nudging me to add it to the centerpiece. This will always have a special meaning to my daughter.

I love snow! Winter is my favorite season and Christmas my favorite holiday. So what better way to have snow inside than a basket of faux snowballs. Cardinals are my favorite bird so I added it to my basket.

This snowman I got from the dollar tree. It is actually three pumpkins with a witches hat. I turned it over and decorated it as snowman.

Final project of the Faux Apples

Here are the faux apples in their final stage. This picket fence I had had for years and I use to hang it only at Christmas. This year I decided I would use it for all holidays, starting with fall. The branches I found online on Amazon (they were called berry pick, I think). The hello fall sign is from dollar tree from summer. The other side says Strawberry picking, I wanted the sign to be universal. I flipped it over and painted the back with Waverly Chalk paint in mineral and modge podge it. The Hello Fall came from a window cling set from Dollar Tree. The scarecrow is a door hanger and it came from Dollar General. The basket I already had. Ribbon is from Dollar Tree also. I can hardly wait for Christmas to arrive so I can decorate it. Come back in December to see it! 

I am thinking of making some faux apples for Christmas and Winter.
